The report at the Center from American Progress gives a thorough list of the White House’s abuse of taxpayer dollars to pay for their campaign and artificially inflate their own budgets (for the White House and VP residence and offices). Good read.
Update: Wow, it’s even shadier… Atrios has a story about Bush contributors getting the advertising contract for the medicare advertising (thus routing the commission for the job to the same people doing campaign ads for Bush).

I believe Bush only forgoes federal financing for the primaries; after they’re done, he’s ready open the government tap. What’s especially hypocritical is that even though he accepts federal matching dollars for his campaign, he doesn’t contribute to this pool of money on his own tax returns.
