Congratulations Carolina Panthers…
Will someone in the Eagles front office please goddamn f’ing wake up and get some real receivers here? This is the worst receiving corps in football right now. I can’t think of a receiving corps I’d want less. They drop critical balls all the time, screw up routes and generally suck ass all the damn time. How horrible do they have to play before something is done about them?
Beyond that, losing McNabb hurt, obviously. I’ve been saying all week that the only reason this receiving corps doesn’t get exposed more often is that McNabb buys them a lot of time with his movement around the backfield. With him out and no other playmaker on offense, it was pretty much over at 14-3 (and, well, I guess that’s obvious since that’s the score right now).
As they say online, GG.

You’re right. Next to “Coverage Sack” in the football lexicon, there’s a picture of the Eagles’ wide receivers from the last three years.
Also to be noted: this is the first time since before Reggie White that I can remember the Eagles having a front four that didn’t inspire fear in opposing teams. Injuries suck. I can’t believe the Eagles aren’t in the Super Bowl.

I should, in some fairness, mention LJ Smith and McMullen… both are rookies and are supposed to be talented. Time will tell on that front, but I really hope that something is done about this… it’s not like it’s out of reach for Philadelphia to win these games if their receivers could make plays. For evidence, just look at the win against Green Bay.

I think the receivers for the Eagles are just RAD. Come on, guys, let’s give ‘em a break! They’re working really hard, just like the coders at ESPN. Let’s congratulate them for a good season instead. Hip hip hooray!
