Corporate restrictions on internet access are nothing new. As much as I’d like to shout against the restrictions at work, it’s their equipment and they are footing the network bill.
EBay has just enacted a new internet usage monitoring system on its employees, and it’s nothing awful. But this memo at InternalMemos.com, a FuckedCompany site, brought tears to my eyes. Just look at the first guideline in the list. “…unless it is part of your job”
Reminds me of my days at Delphi, when our employees had to monitor illicit websites to ensure that nothing illegal was happening.

Hey, it happens. Especially if you’re a trademark lawyer, and someone has registered a domain name with your client’s mark in the domain name for a porn site. A recent trademark search report for a mark that included the word “blackjack” turned up some very, um, interesting ? pictures.

Ugh. I can’t even look at a search report for the words “salad” and “top” without finding pictures I could easily have lived my life without seeing…
