So, this morning I saw that the check coolant level light came on. I immediately called VW to see what that was (after looking in the manual to confirm my suspicions). They said, “This is a very serious problem if the light is flashing like that. You need to bring that in and prepare to leave it for at least a week.”
I said, “ARE YOU F-ING KIDDING ME?!?!”
“No.”
Then, I immediately called my local Gulf station. The very kind man immediately gave me a top off of my coolant, and I drove away having given the guy 5 bucks for not having been a “wank.”
ANOTHER REASON WHY I HATE VW!!!

My ‘03 GTI with only 20K miles has been in the shop an average of once every 2K miles. Not much of a reliability record. Airbag sensors, brake switches, window clips, door handles that come off in your hand, peeling trim, coils, AC (twice), dead sound system etc. And the customer service “advocates”? Like clueless robotic high school girls. You can almost see them twirling their hair round their finger while they tell you, in essence, to piss off. I’m seriously considering trading my GTI for a Toyota. Sure, it’ll be boring. But at least I won’t be waiting for the next thing to go wrong.

I would absolutely recommend that you trade it in. I did and it worked out well.

First of all…if you are such an unloyal VW driver then you should not be driving one at all. Trade it in for a honda or something crappy like that. You obviously cant handle the power of a VW!!

Wow, I barely remembered this post was up.
Yes, euro racer, I agree. VWs are crap, and VW reported a 25% decrease in sales in October from a year ago. Gotta love it.
