I just got back from a Giants game at beautiful Pacific Bell Park. I thought the game was a lot of fun, even though the Giants lost. I really had no preference about the outcome, so I just wanted to see a good game. The Dodgers delivered. Oh, and in case you’re not a big baseball fan, this matchup is a HUGE rivalry out here on the west coast. The fans turned out, 42,000+ strong.

Now, Pac Bell is a great park. Not only is it pretty, but it has great fan amenities. First of all, the seats have really nice, wide rows. The seats aren’t much wider than the seats at Fenway, but it’s nice. The seats have cup holders too (you can see it in the pic below in the top right corner). There didn’t seem to be a bad seat in the house on the lower deck (I didn’t walk on the upper deck). But, the most impressive thing about the park was the food. Check this out:

Macho Nachos at Pac Bell

Those nachos are amazing… fresh salsa, onions, carrots, jalapenos… MMmmmmmmmMmMmMm. Then, there’s Ben and Jerry’s at the park. Good looking pizza, some great looking spicy french fries with onions, something like salsa and some other great toppings. I wanted to try everything, but then I saw the picture I took of myself at the park:

If that chin gets any bigger…. ;) So, I contented myself with the nachos and Ben and Jerry’s. Yum.

I love the mitt and slides in center field for the kids. One of the neat features of the park.

Oh my god! I just found out that they are having a sleep over at Pac Bell tonight!!!! For $300 you can camp out in the outfield at Pac Bell. They’re showing a movie at midnight, then guests can have breakfast tomorrow with some Giants old-timers. This is so awesome. Hey, Red Sox, did you see this!!! We need to do this at Fenway! Of course, the rats at Fenway might be scary at night… on second thought… ;)
