Even more voices against the Republican tax cut plan. The article mentions several studies (non-partisan as well as sponsored by the White House) that shows little to no positive effects on the tax cut. I find it funny that the folks the White House commissioned for a study can’t support their own proposals.

George Soros apparently voiced his own opposition to the tax cut, making him the second billionaire to come out against the tax cut in the last 2 or 3 days. The relevant quote:

“The administration is basically using the recession to redistribute income to the wealthy,” Mr Soros said.

Granted, it was only a small part of his comments on CNBC, but interesting nonetheless.

When November rolls around, we HAVE to let the Republicans and Democrats in Congress know that we understand basic check book financing and can do simple math. The tax cut is the wrong idea for our current situation. We have deficits, increased spending, and skittish consumers. The last thing we need is to take money out of the treasury, especially when we give most of it back to the wealthy.

One more note… we just went back to Orange alert which has a real impact in state and federal expenditures… all those extra police at Fenway or National Guard troops sitting at bridges cost money. It’s not just a color code to help the general public be more vigilant.
