Found an op-ed piece from the NYTimes at CNN by Nicholas Kristof called Why truth matters. It goes through the reasons why finding WMD is especially important for U.S. credibility, especially following public embarrassments such as the fake evidence presented to the UN about Iraq’s alleged deal to get Uranium from Niger. Or the plagiarized “intelligence dossier” (though, to be fair that was the Brits). Or the exaggerated evidence from an high profile Iraqi defector.

It’s an interesting read, and provides leads for further reading and research if you’re so inclined (like me :) ).
