I just read an article stating that I did not get much of an advantage going to a mediocore private school for college…sort of depressing. Though this article only takes into account the return on your investment, not the quality of the education that you got, so I will cling to that for a while :).

One of those mocking, derisive but ultimately silly attacks made by both Giuliani and Palin yesterday had to do with mocking Obama’s time as a community organizers. I’ve read many different posts today defending the work community organizers do but Obama, as you might expect, puts the right perspective on the issue. Steve Benen has more background.

It’s funny to read this article, because as a high school teacher, I don’t make much money — so no, my $100,000+ undergrad education is not paying of in the fiscal sense. But also, being in this profession, it is obvious that money is not necessarily my measuring stick. I wouldn’t trade my education — I loved my mediocre undergrad school!!
