I just watched the movie The Good Thief on friday. I have to say, despite me not being a huge Nick Nolte fan, I really enjoyed this movie. It is sort of on the same line as Ocean’s Eleven, however in terms of cinematography, acting, and direction, I found this to be a far more gratifying movie. I always feel that Hollywood movies has such a “slickness” level to them that they never leave you as satisfied as watching a good indie film.
The soundtrack for this movie was also really great. One song in particular was really catchy, called Parisien du Nord, and is a hip hop version of this song by Cheb Mami (you can sample it here ). He is a well know Algerian artist (singing in the style of Rai). Listen to it if you get a chance.

Found this via Brea Grant’s blog. It’s a good song, and the rest of the album is pretty good. You can get the album, Re-arrange Us, on Amazon.com’s MP3 store. No DRM, just plain, high quality MP3 files.
(PS. Don’t forget to watch Brea Grant on Heroes in a few weeks, and check out other books and music she likes over at Coolspotters. And, no, I’ve got no connection to her, business or otherwise. Just a fan since I saw her on Friday Night Lights.)

Haven’t seen the film, but I might now
Thanks for the song tip.
Heard a good Greek track yesterday at Caprice that I can’t, of course, trace now. It’s called Yeia. If you find it, *let me know!*
