Apparently, the state of Arkansas is willing to treat their insane patients enough to make them sane enough for execution. All sorts of interesting ethical questions in this. For example, if you’re a doctor (and have sworn to do no harm), do you treat a patient on death row knowing that your treatment will lead to the patient’s eventual death? (I don’t think it’s especially that hard… I mean, your treatment does not ultimately cause their death… you’re making them healthy… the state is then taking this healthy person and killing them).

One of those mocking, derisive but ultimately silly attacks made by both Giuliani and Palin yesterday had to do with mocking Obama’s time as a community organizers. I’ve read many different posts today defending the work community organizers do but Obama, as you might expect, puts the right perspective on the issue. Steve Benen has more background.
(he slightly misspeaks at the start — it was 20 years ago, not 3).
