So, the decision is back, and the empire that is Disney wins. Read all about it Here. Personally this is not something that I was for. I feel that this law hurts more then it helps. There are so many works out there that are out of our hands, because of this extension (due to reasons such as not being able to find the latest owner of the copyright, or it not being profitable enough to release the more obscure works of an artist). I would think that the people who created these works would want them out there for people to enjoy. After all, isn’t that the reason they were created in the first place? Maybe their great grandchildren won’t make their few bucks off of the works anymore, but really, was that the reason that they were created? Does Disney Co. really believe that Walt wanted to create this empire to bring in huge amounts of revenue, or did he want to do something to make children happy?
